Today I’m heading to an invite-only investor event during Hawaii Tech Week. Founders. Angel investors. Venture capitalists. Accredited investors. For me, this is new. I haven’t had serious money for that long, so this is one of the first times I’m entering a room like this as a peer instead of as the landscaper, tour guide, or guy working around wealthy people. And that matters. Your network often changes when your environment changes. You don’t need to chase rich people. You need to put yourself in rooms where people are building, investing, and thinking bigger. Then be useful. Be curious. Ask good questions. Build real relationships. That’s how doors open.
