@joseonyangban: Artisans of Korea Gannil: Horsehair Hat Making Gannil is the traditional craft of making gat, an iconic Korean hat that became a symbol of dignity and refinement during the Joseon Dynasty. Creating a single gat requires three specialized processes: shaping the crown from horsehair, weaving the wide brim from fine bamboo strips, and joining the two parts through a total of 51 intricate steps. Master artisan Jeong Chun-mo preserves this tradition together with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law. Each family member takes part in the craft, carrying the legacy of Tongyeong gat-making into the next generation. 📍Tongyeong, Korea #Gannil #GatMaking #HorsehairHat #KoreanCraft #KoreanArtisan
