profit is R10 billion, so it's all worth. you're sharing these costs to scare people away from farming, gatekeeping won't work in 2026

Here is how I look at it.
If 139ha = R 1,050,400
then,
13.9ha = R 105,040
then,
1.39ha = R 10,504.
Conclusion = start with what you have.

Diesel&Dirt :
Please note that this is only planting th3 soybeans. Not worker's, maintenance, transport, breakdowns, insurance this is just to plant, spray and diesel of harvesting.
The yield will only become known once we harvest next year.
Farming is a big gamble, the weather also is a very big unknown for us.
We spray not only when planting but also when growing to keep the weeds and pests away and improve crop health. We do multiple applications on spraying with various equipment.
Hope this can give you all a better understanding.🤝

If soybean prices today are at R9570 and average yield is 2 tons/ha, total income will equal R2 488 200. Now minus that with your input costs of R1050200, and you're left with a margin of R1438000 and then you still have to pay salaries, insurance, electricity, waters😭😭 Farming isn't easy man

But you can’t say “to spray the poisons”. Call them plant protection chemicals or pesticides. You will scare people. What are your expected yields and profit

Rumor has it, the price of soy beans is R7k per ton.
130 hectares can produce around 300 tons.
But I'm not saying anything 😏

Meaning the cost per Ha is R8080. The oil price is soo high now. I worked with a person who charged about R10000 per ha in 160h.that was in 2012.this is very reasonable now cos the soya beans cost current price is R9440. If you succeed and at least make 5t pe h, which we did, the total income was going to be R6136000. Minus your total cost 1050400,i still make R5085600

Bojosi JD :
the yield of soybeans per hectare can be as high as 3 – 4 tons. Open pollinated soybeans seeds may not yield as high as hybrid soybeans seeds.
The latest indicative soybean price in South Africa is about R9,140 per ton for the October 2026 SAFEX spot contract, with upcoming contract months ranging between roughly R8,749 and R9,245 per ton depending on delivery month.
4ton x 130 hactors =520 tons
520tons x R9,245 = R4, 807, 400.00

R100k 👀 If we work on R35/L, that’s roughly 2,857L for 130ha, at about 22L/ha. Who’s handling your diesel supply, and where are you based?
