Worked at a high end restaurant. Owner was next door drinking at an even higher end restaurant. Me as a barback went into the bathroom and hit my vape. Alarms go off. I run out of bathroom and confess to manager right away cause I’m a wimp. Yelled at and told to go back to work and I’m lucky they caught it in time so the firetruck didn’t have to come……….Firetruck came…….. I’m standing at bar while watching firetruck and firefighters coming in during a weekend busy rush. Owner calls restaurant drunk demanding whenever did this be fired. I was fired🥲 callled the next day by owner apologizing for firing me under those circumstances. Told to right essay to firehouse and get my job back no worries. Took a whole day writing that letter😭

Me —- decided to pull a sickie and took kids to beach for the day , my boss lived right by the beach and came and tapped me on the shoulder he called in sick aswell lol it was our secret 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

He once got a raise. Then he asked everyone how much they got. Nobody told him how much they each got. He just shrugged and kept working. Years later, he’s pulled into the office with HR. Apparently they were overpaying him by $20 an hour every time he we went into overtime, which was common. He said “I thought it was high too. I asked everyone how much they got but nobody told me. So I just assumed it was right.” The manager was furious but grinned his teeth as he said “ok. That’s not supposed to be that high, it was our mistake. We won’t make you pay it back so just accept it as a bonus.” Then he worked for a couple of more years and quit on his terms. That dude was me.

Worked with a guy that put a can of spray paint in the paint shaker. Said “I just wanted to see what it would do!!” Obviously it blew up….and he was fired.

I worked in the bakery at a local Golden Corral a few years ago…. I watched my coworker chop bananas (as you would for a banana pudding) and proceed to fucking peel them. Individually.

A girl tried to steal a soda from the vending machine. She put her arm all the way up it and it clamped down . She was stuck . They had to call the fire department to get her arm out .

Manager of the "cleaning team" team in our factory had extra employees on her rotas that hadn't set foot on the premises. Only came about when an employee asked for extra hours and was told by her there wasnt any to give,disgruntled employee took it further and higher uppers looked into this managers paperwork. Turns out she had her husband and adult son on the payroll,they even got paid holidays and bonuses along with standard pay rises,despite never doing one shift 🤣 No idea how long this had been going on for,but manager wasn't directly sacked,but demoted and moved to a different factory. The missing hours were then distrubuted between any of the cleaners who wanted them.

A lady I worked with for 12 years, she always called in sick for everything every single week. She was never sick, she was caught quite often shopping, at the zoo, you get the picture. They never even talked to her. It turns out her husband was rich, and the family that owned the businesses were friends with him and just let her get away with everything. When she was at work, she'd chat with co-workers in and out of our department, she got raises for pretty much nothing. We honestly thought she was sleeping with a higher up. Nope, her husband was a millionaire.

I had a supervisor tell city departments that they can’t buy things without getting his approval first. He had zero say what each department could or could not purchase. I honestly have no clue how he kept his job with the amount of mistakes he made daily. Last I heard was he deleted a bunch of things by ‘mistake’ and it took a whole week to fix it

Some weird lady at my old store got a tattoo of someone else who works there without their permission. She got a warning and had to get it removed.

We had a guy who would ring a number which would ring constantly but actually answered and cost a lot per minute, he'd leave it on and then go sit in his car...built up quite a bill and stillndidnt get fired
