THE HISTORY OF BRIGHT INTERNATIONAL PARK, SHAI HILLS, DORYUMU — A LAND OF HISTORY, CULTURE AND TRADITION! 🏞️🇬🇭 Did you know that Bright International Park, formerly known as Tsilɛ Kɛ Tsilɛtɛ, also called Twin Rock, is located in the historic community of Shai Hills, Doryumu, in the Shai Traditional Area? Beyond its natural beauty and breathtaking mountain scenery, this remarkable site holds a special place in the history and traditional beliefs of the people of Shai, Doryumu. It is traditionally believed to be a sacred place associated with the gods of the land. According to local history and oral tradition, the two prominent stones standing at the summit of the mountain are known as Tsilɛ Kɛ Tsilɛtɛ, believed to represent twin brothers. Their younger sibling, known as Doe, is also part of this fascinating historical account. Tradition has it that Doe, identified by a panda-like drawing on the stone, was originally positioned behind the two larger stones at the top of the mountain. However, the stone is said to have fallen from its original position to a lower part of the mountain, where it remains to this day. These remarkable features make the site more than just a tourist attraction; they represent a connection to the ancestral heritage, cultural identity and traditional beliefs of the people of Shai, Doryumu. FROM A HISTORICAL LANDMARK TO A PLACE OF RECREATION 🌿 Over time, concerns arose about littering, open defecation and the improper use of this historically significant environment. Recognising the need to protect the site and improve its surroundings, the people of Shai, Doryumu, through the relevant traditional and community development efforts, entered into an arrangement with the Green House and Bright International Company Ltd. to help transform the area into a cleaner, more beautiful and serene recreational destination. Today, Bright International Park represents an important step towards combining cultural heritage, environmental protection, tourism and recreation. As we celebrate the beauty of this remarkable landmark, let us remember that preserving our history is just as important as developing our communities. Our traditions tell our story, our landmarks preserve our identity, and our commitment to protecting them will ensure that future generations can learn about and appreciate their heritage.
