life long siding installer here with 30+ years experience and we've been removing vinyl siding like this for at least 15 years now. you have to go back over the wall and drive the bails in because they don't come out with the siding but its still way easier this way. there's only 1 type of vinyl siding ive seen that this technique doesn't work on
