And if you’re an immigrant living in the United States right now, that number is aimed at you. 🚨 CNN reports that ICE leadership told agents nationwide to increase daily immigration arrests by 1,000 people, returning to a previous White House target of 3,000 arrests per day. They’re pushing for 19,000 arrests per week, accounting for slower weekend operations. 📊 In August alone, ICE arrested more than 51,000 people, a new monthly record for the Trump administration. The month before had already set the previous record, with more than 46,000 arrests. The government says there are no quotas, but internal directives, contract solicitations to expand detention space, and pressure on field agents tell a different story. ⚖️ Even some Republicans are starting to push back. Florida Representative Maria Elvira Salazar broke with the president in a campaign ad, while the agricultural industry has raised alarms after ICE disruptions affected their operations. The Trump administration is also expanding the ways agents can stop and detain people, including vehicle stops that have already resulted in fatal shootings. 🚔 None of this is theoretical.
