A beginner should start on the instrument they want to start with. Forcing a kid to start acoustic when they want to play electric is a great way for them to drop it after a few months

electric is easier on the fingers, but with the acoustic Guitar it will help you build up finger strength. start with what you want but both will help in different ways.

I was forced to start on acoustic by my step dad. all I wanted to play was metal. I gave up until I got my first job and bought an electric. definitely different instruments as they say because I play both now

If I started on an acoustic I would have stopped playing. I didn’t want to play acoustic tunes when I was 12… I wanted to play slayer!

Start with the instrument you think is the most fun to play. If it's fun you will crave to play it instead of making practice a chore. Practice literally becomes about having fun.

I'm the worst guitarist in history, and I know beginners should start on electric. The strings are closer to the fret board, it's easier to manage, and it's more forgiving for terrible playing. Plus, they are more fun and cool.
