@r.b18._: باغ فدک حقِ سیدہ فاطمتہ الزہرا سلام اللہ علیہا Bagh-e-Fadak (the Garden of Fadak) was a fertile property gifted to Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA) by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during his lifetime, which became a point of major dispute after his demise. Following the conquest of Khaybar, the land was peaceably surrendered to the Holy Prophet (PBUH), making it his personal estate (Fai). According to historical records, upon the revelation of Surah Al-Isra (17:26), the Prophet bestowed Fadak upon his daughter Hazrat Fatima (SA). However, after the Prophet's passing, the first Caliph confiscated the estate, citing a narration that prophets do not leave material inheritance. Hazrat Fatima (SA) challenged this decision, arguing her rightful ownership both as a divine gift (Hiba) and a legitimate inheritance under Quranic law. Her legal claim to Fadak was famously articulated in her eloquent Sermon of Fadak (Khutbah al-Fadakiya), delivered at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. She cited verses from the Quran—such as Solomon inheriting David (Surah An-Naml 27:16) and Zechariah praying for an heir (Surah Maryam 19:5-6)—to demonstrate that prophets do leave inheritances to their families. Despite presenting witnesses to support her claim of ownership, the decision was maintained, leading to a long-standing theological and historical dispute over her rights. Ultimately, the denial of Fadak is viewed in Islamic history as a central symbol of her political and material disenfranchisement following the Prophet's death.
