it's the same as asking "why does that kid get a wheelchair and mine doesnt?" umm bc your kid can walk and doesn't need it to function?

Life is unfair and wants and needs are different … would you like your child’s business spread to every other parent if they ask a question

But why is it only unfair when it's not for your child but if your child needed the accommodation and someone else acted that way, it would quickly become "my child needs this, yours doesn't"

It's autism, I can tell since I have it too. People at my college are starting to figure out I'm allowed to skip class. Some call it unfair. What they don't know is that I'm actively trying to fight my own thoughts, delusions and alienation. I feel such an intense amount of stress and need to claw out of my skin. You don't want that in a classroom. I assume it's similar for this Noah character (though most likely not as severe if he solely deals with autism. I deal with a bit more).

so much respect to you. where has common sense gone in parenting? I couldn't do what you do. it's like critical thinking and common sense left parents.

I wanted to reach through the phone soo bad! (I am aware these are skits) it’s just Because I have a child with special needs and his accommodations are like “Noah’s” so I felt like this was very personal. Why can’t people just be grateful for the fact that their child doesn’t NEED all the extra just to go through their day.

parent has no right to be upset. I just think the name of Noahs condition could be said, tho. to both parents and children. so the children can identify the condition in more ppl and learn to become empathic in life and be understanding of individual needs of each other. it takes away ignorance, selfishness and bullying in my opinion. I know most adults may choose not to change and improve, but the children can and tend to when given enough information correctly🙏🏾. that kind of parent needs to take a seat

this is why special needs kids can be pariahs. Kids don’t care why they have different rules. They just hate you because they had to clean up and you didn’t. I’m blind and I sometimes went out of my way not to use the accommodations I actually needed. A kid was gonna complain and then their mother was gonna complain. And being vague just makes it worse.

are accommodations unfair? sometimes, but that's a matter between the one who needs that accommodation and their parent, no one else has any say unless it directly affects them or they are part of that medical/ iep decision making process
