@tonysimpsonofficial: Historic Hurricane Isaias is traveling directly over our home. This hurricane is projected to be a cat 2 maybe a cat 3. Projected winds are 110 mph & 10 inches of rain. My wife, myself, & our fur babies will be staying and I will be filming the whole experience. I will do my best to post often. If you’re looking to support, please send positive vibes, prayers, or send so loving energy our way. Shoutout to @savage for all of the hurricane updates.
Been in Florida 30 years. You are about to experience a lot of rain and that’s most likely it. It won’t even feel like a hurricane. Just prepare for a possible power outage. Have food you can eat you don’t have to cook or refrigerate and water. Fill your bathtub with water so you can use that to flush the toilet. Bring patio furniture, windchimes etc inside. Fill a plastic or paper cup with water and put it in your freezer. If the power goes out put a quarter on top of that frozen water, once the quarter melts to the bottom your food is no longer good. Charge your electronics but unplug them once it starts to hit Friday to avoid power surge damage.

Life long Floridian. You might get flooded and the power will probably go out. We always watched the transformers blow and light up the sky while getting drunk via hurricane party. Fill your tubs so you can flush. You should be fine.

hurricane Ian, Helena and Milton survivor here 🥰 I pinky promise the worst part is the aftermath of being without power.
The community love you will receive afterwards is the most beautiful thing that you will ever experience.
I am saying prayers for you!

Tampa native here. Been through probably 20-30 hurricanes. If you're 25-30' above sea level, you're gonna be fine. local flooding would be the worry. If youre around the 10-15' mark and youre on the "dirty" side of the storm, with high tides, that's a problem. I don't worry about winds until its 150 mph. I always see water do far more damage than winds. Large trees in your yard are what causes major house damage.

Losing power and water, getting through the aftermath and safety is primarily what preparation is all about. Stay safe. All the best!

At least this one is going to go thru faster than Sally! Sally sat for days spinning! That’s what did most of the damage. Trees are such an issue! If I ever build I won’t have trees near my house

As a lifelong Floridian who went through a Cat 5, which I don't recommend, a 2 is scary but not terrifying. As long as it stays small and moves fast, you should be good. You just have to concern yourself where you are in the wind field. They expect the highest winds to only go out 25 miles which is good if you aren't in that zone.

Went through them in NC and in Florida. You will be amazed at how much hype there is and all that happens. Make sure you get outside it’s just a serious rainstorm. Taught my daughter not to fear and now she is the most relaxed during these storms

At this size it’s more about inconvenience than it is safety. Bc the power grids around here suck!

It’s not fun , get ready to be without electricity for days and maybe weeks. Gas will be almost impossible to find . Your food in fridge will spoil. It sucks

Unless you’re at sea level; it’s not that bad. Prep for power loss. Generator, fuel, cooking on a grill. As long as you keep the fridge(s) /freezer running you’ll be ok. A portable A/C unit is great for comfort ✌️

I’ve been through a few. If you are in a flood zone I would say no. You might be without power for days. Don’t stay in bedrooms where trees are close to. Be prepared during storm it spawns tornadoes. Batteries flashlights gas tank full anything that can get picked up by wind put away. Stay safe

Tampa here. We got it pretty bad 2 years ago. You will be ok. You’re doing all the right things. You probably know this but make sure all things are picked up outside your home. Sending love and light to you all.
