I remember when I was a kid i'd try really hard on imagining a new color and I actually would always gravitate to greenish cyan as the closest I could do, so it's honestly kinda wild seeing this now

I remember the discourse about the color and people used to say "it's not new it's literally the color of my toothpaste!"

I take showers with a red UV lamp so whenever I get out I see that OLO color in normal lighting since my red cones are so fried (at least that’s put in simpler terms)

Eric (acunat fanatic) :
here's also a representation what a mantis shrimp may see. While Mantis shrimp have more color cones and while there are a handful that detect UV light, it's more that they see colors *less* distinctly than we do because their brains do not mix the color signals like ours do. This adaptation allows them to process visual data faster at the cost of the full in-betweens of the color spectrum. Due to compound eyes they also see the same thing we do in segments which can look like a mosaic. So unlike how many people claim, there's not really a thing such as "shrimp colors"

Makes you wonder if, in our dreams, we experience colors like OLO or even colors beyond the visible spectrum, things our eyes could never perceive while awake? Since our brains create the visuals in dreams, could we be experiencing colors that don't even have names yet nor have been identified to exists, without realizing it?
