She is currently experiencing significant spinal concerns that require further veterinary evaluation and care. Her medical findings include narrowed intervertebral disc spaces at L5-L7 with calcified discs, as well as collapsed disc spacing from T10-T13 on all views. Hilda needs further medical care and evaluation beyond what we are able to provide at DAS. Can stand on hindquarters but drags both rear legs, causing chronic sores on tops of rear paws. Carprofen SQ given; planned sedation/radiographs. 9/8: Sedated for lumbar/pelvic radiographs. Hematuria and urinary incontinence noted. X-rays showed severe IVDD with narrowed/calcified discs at L5–L7 and collapsed disc spacing T10–T13; colon full of fecal material. UA: hematuria, pyuria, pH 9.0, calcium oxalate + struvite crystals, and rod bacteria. A: Severe IVDD with UTI, likely secondary to disc disease; incontinence may be neurologic. Rx: Clavamox 125 mg BID x10 days. Recommend veterinary surgeon/neurologist follow-up and full-service vet evaluation for prescription urinary diet. 9/11: Recheck after 3 days Carprofen/Gabapentin/Clavamox. Occasional right rear leg movement and mild urinary incontinence; still paraparesis, not paraplegia. Proceeded with OHE. 10/7: Unable to walk on hindquarters due to IVDD. Increased risk for constipation and recurrent UTIs secondary to condition. Right ear aural hematoma with bilateral otitis externa; EKT 3 cc applied to both ears. Rx: Carprofen 37.5 mg SID x7 days. 72-hour FDT planned; verified veterinary appointment required before release. 💉Recheck💉 10/10/26 Recheck to make sure doing okay. Eating? Comfortable? 3 days on carprofen and 3 days post EKT. IVDD and paralysis in hindquarters. Aural hematoma in the right ear pinna. Bilateral otitis externa. FDT is for today 📝Shelter Observations📝 09/07/26: BAR, ALLOWS PETS, EASY TO HANDLE 10/07/26: Calm, did not do much.
