So if I pump and get what I need in 5 minutes, stop there? Bc I saw another video where you recommend to do 15-20 minutes. It’s confusing 😭

I wish they told me this in the hospital/my baby’s NICU stay when I was consistently showing I was an over producer. I’ve had mastitis twice

I’m an oversupplier and produce double what my baby needs in a day. What if we are EP and want to supply 1 year worth of breast milk but only want to pump 6 months?

I’m 2m postpartum I didn’t know anything at all about pumping or breastfeeding I started breastfeeding and pumped after until the pump would turn off (30min each session) 😩 I’d pump 15oz sometimes 17oz a time I hatttteedd pumping I was so engorged all the time so much so I bought another fridge and stored it bc it didn’t fit anymore. One day your videos came up on my page I completely stopped pumping and just stuck with breastfeeding completely changed my world 😩 I love it sm now nursing my baby n not pumping the way I would I feed on demand now !!

Can confirm an over supply causes my baby to have issues at the breast. 😫

Im only 3 weeks pp but my baby had a tongue tie the first 2 weeks so I exclusively pumped. He’s now latching on but I’ve been leaking milk like crazy since he doesn’t empty me out. If I don’t pump I feel engorged and disgusting. I cut it back to 2 times a day instead of every 3 hours and just feed him in between but it doesn’t feel like enough 😫

How are people getting that much so quickly? My letdowns take so long😭😭 I can get 12 ounces in one session but that’s after 30 minutes. I just want to store as much as I can and ditch the pump😭

How do I stop pumping though? My baby was born at 36 weeks. She’s two weeks old and is taking 2oz but I’m pumping 5oz. I want to exclusively breastfeed but I’m miserable and engorged even after nursing her so I feel like I have to pump after just to be comfortable

5oz total or 5 oz per boob? If you’re mostly breastfeeding but wanting to build a stash for travel (months in the future), do you recommend building it via that 5oz pumped per day?

Okay but I get 8-10oz in 7 minutes sometimes. If I don’t empty it hurts

Love your advice but every time I listen to one of your videos I feel like I’m doing something wrong. I’m going to have to unfollow for now because it’s overwhelming. Love ya

I haven’t seen you answer this question, and I would love your advice! I am exclusively breastfeeding while on maternity leave and have been using my Elvie Catch to collect letdown from the opposite breast while nursing to build my freezer stash without creating an oversupply. Since this milk is collected at the beginning during my letdown, I understand it may contain more foremilk. When I return to work, will it be okay for my baby to drink this milk, or could having mostly foremilk affect his nutrition or fullness?

I feel like while I see what you are saying but as a 2nd time EP’er I think if you can oversupply it takes one of the largest stressors away from EP’ers. If I get sick/have a major supply dip…how will I feed my baby if i don’t have enough milk. That freezer stash is the insurance/assurance if the worst happens. Reddit/subreddit feeds are full of stressed Moms trying to feed their babies for as long as they can or ones who experienced massive dips and are struggling to increase to meet their little ones needs. I’m personally waiting for my supply to regulate before I’d even consider manipulating my oversupply.

Nicki, do you have any videos on how to feed after going back to work? My baby is exclusively nursed on demand and takes one bottle before bed to keep the skill. How to I let my mom know WHEN to feed him when she watches him 1-2 days a week?

I’ve been exclusively pumping since 2 months PP. I was obsessed with starting a freezer stash and I’ve hardly used it! I’m almost 8 months PP and have milk in the freezer that I can’t use to feed my baby with nor do I need to. I hate there was so much pressure, especially on a new mother, to create this oversupply/feeezer stash when my baby gets the absolute perfect amount that she needs each much. I will still save the milk she doesn’t drink but it was 10 times more stressful watching mothers on here flexing about how much milk they were making and saving when all the while I was making the perfect amount. ❤️

I completely agree that’s how I got mastitis. Now I exclusively breastfeed when I’m with baby and pump when I’m at work.

Hi! My baby has a tongue-tie, so I pump my breast milk and feed her with a bottle. I freeze any extra milk. I can pump about 12 oz from both breasts in just 20 minutes. My daughter has just turned 3 months old and is now entering her fourth month. I already have a large deep freezer full of frozen breast milk. What would you recommend I do?

Can’t always just pump what I need oz wise but I always pump what I need comfort wise. This morning I pumped 6oz in 6min and only pumped because I was so engorged I was nowhere near empty but that size naturally has an oversupply and I don’t want to encourage it.
