@thedamonharrison: I LIED TO Y’ALL! 🤣😂 And it was all because of Mama’s 1970s SQUASH CASSEROLE! If you’re new here, my name is Damon, and my precious 85-year-old mama has decided she’s ready to go home and be with JESUS. ❤️ So I moved in to care for her and cook for her. We treat every day and every meal as though it may be her last because MAMA GETS WHAT MAMA WANTS! ❤️ Y’all, this squash casserole is straight out of the 1970s! It’s a recipe I grew up eating, and I hadn’t made it in years! Well, I got started and realized I didn’t have the water chestnuts or the cornbread croutons. I thought, “Oh well, we’ll just make do!” 🤷‍♂️ But then I got to thinking… Mama LOVES that little bit of crunch! And if we’re making Mama’s squash casserole, we’re making it RIGHT! So off to the grocery store I went! 🤣 And let me tell you something… THIS WAS EVEN BETTER THAN I REMEMBER! 😋 Mama absolutely loved it! In fact, she said she might even eat the LEFTOVERS! 😳🤣 Y’ALL!! If you’ve been following us for a while, you KNOW that is practically a miracle around here! Mama does NOT do leftovers! You can easily add chicken, sausage, or another protein to make this a complete meal. Tonight, we’re having it as a side with our slow cooker pork chops, and THAT is a whole other video you’ll have to go find! 😋 I hope you give this old-fashioned recipe a try!
