@wekaypoh: Does a girl publicly posting a photo or video of herself online immediately give others the licence to sexualise her? And whose responsibility is it to protect girls from such abuse? These girls in Singapore, all aged 21 and below, had their photos and videos taken, sexualised, deepfaked and circulated online without their consent. weKaypoh speaks to Zhi Yu, Abbie and Alessandria about their experiences with image-based sexual abuse, its impact on their lives, and how they’re fighting back. Thank you Zhi Yu, Abbie and Alessandria for courageously sharing your stories. ❤️ #sgnews #imagebasedsexualabuse #deepfake #sexualviolence #weKaypoh

I'm old enough to be their mom and this also happened to me back in the late 2000s. someone took my photos off my friends only Facebook profile and then posted them on HardwareZone. Other men started saying extremely disgusting sexual things they want to do to me. HWZ refused to delete the 20+ page post till i got a lawyer to make them do it. Men have always been disgusting and they are just getting worse..

good! maybe this will return us to the era where modesty is recognised as a virtue, and exposure on social media is not necessarily a good thing

Posting a photo publicly ≠ consent to be sexualised. Why is this still something we need to say?
