@texbeachbum: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2026 💬 Are you heading to the beach this weekend, or waiting for the Gulf to calm down ? Well, Beach Bums, Hurricane Isaias is strengthening in the Gulf of Mexico ! The good news is that the storm is currently moving away from Texas, but that doesn't mean our beaches won't feel the effects ! 🌀 LATEST HURRICANE UPDATE Hurricane Isaias is currently a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds near 80 mph, moving east-northeast at approximately 9 mph. Additional strengthening is expected as the storm heads toward the northern Gulf Coast. 🌊 WHAT ABOUT OUR TEXAS BEACHES ? 🌊 Thursday Surf: Around 2–4 feet. 🌊 Friday Offshore Seas: Building to 7–9 feet. ⚠️ Rip Currents: HIGH RISK through Friday evening ! ⚠️ Coastal Flooding: Minor coastal flooding possible, especially Friday. 🚙 Beach Driving: Higher water levels could push water toward the dunes, making some narrow sections difficult or impossible to pass during high tide.
