As a statistician, I can confirm that practically there is no chance of them escaping. Increasing chances to 31% doesn’t do anything as you gotta start over and over again!

While idea is that, if you take 100 numbers there is 1/3 chance that there will be no cycle bigger than 50. Thats when all prisoners escape.

I know the answer an di still can't understand it. apparently it's as simple as choosing your own bowx number. and the just opening the box of the number inside. idk what that does except I guess they all have the same path. or maybe I'm wrong an du misremember it

they go to the box that has their number, when they open it if it's not their number, they will look at the number in the box, and go find the box labeled with that number. so on and so forth, this creates a loop where they're more likely to find their number if its within the 50 numbers they check. checking randomly increase the entire groups chances of not finding their own numbers, at least with this method more people would find their numbers than less. but they'll probably all still die, finding a 100% solution is in itself a lower chance than the chances of winning by doing it randomly.

pretty sure this is the one where you have to pick your own number, and if its not yours then pick the number of the one you found in your initial box, this continues until you find your number
