i can explain it! instead of thinking “i have 30 minutes left.” you think “theres 15 minutes till 10, then theres only 15 minutes left.” its the same amount of time but because you broke it into two pieces instead of the one big piece its easier to process (its the “seven pieces of information give or take one or two” idea that we can only process 5-9 pieces of information at once (which is why we break phone numbers down into 123-456-7890, it helps us process the information easier))
