I arrived with zero knowledge of Chinese. Not a word. We were in class from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. every single day. Yes, including evenings. No Rest. The goal was clear: get fluent, fast. At first, we learned basic vocabulary. But here’s the twist: after just one month, our teachers stopped speaking English. Entirely. They told us: ”I know you guys are not ready to speak Chinese.
