@itsworldbycharlie: Here’s how they make the world’s most used building material more environmentally friendly with a special ingredient added by Carbon Cure Technologies. In this video, in Chicago, Illinois, we see how concrete producers combine sand, stone, powdered cement, water and – the special ingredient – captured CO2 to create carbon mineralized concrete. This matters because – before it’s ever shipped to a concrete plant – cement manufacturing creates a lot of emissions. However, producers can replace some of that cement with captured CO2. When injected, the CO2 hits the other materials and mineralizes instantly, transforming into tiny particles of limestone that are embedded in the mix. The concrete uses less cement but is just as strong, works just as well, permanently stores the injected CO2 and results in less cement emissions in the atmosphere. #ilearnedontiktok
