@bonitaamberrleann: Today, I lost my father. And I am writing this with a heart filled with pain, anger, and questions that I may never be able to answer. My father was referred to the Redeemed hospital in Ibadan for treatment. From the beginning, we experienced things that have left our entire family deeply hurt. Before his operation, my father was in pain. He repeatedly begged the nurses to give him medication to ease his suffering and to attend to him. According to what we witnessed as his family, there were times when he was left without the attention and care he desperately needed. We were then told that he needed an operation, and we were asked to provide ₦3.5 million for his operation ,His place of work contributed, and our family was able to raise the money for the operation. He underwent the operation. But instead of getting better, his condition became worse. After the operation, he struggled to breathe and began experiencing serious bleeding from his cheek. When we rushed him back to the hospital because of the bleeding, we expected an emergency response. Instead, we say that he was left for almost an hour before proper attention was given to him. I had to raise my voice and call for a nurse because I could see my father bleeding.the doctor who did the operation refused to see my dad, just kept on telling us to come back his not around his busy weeks after weeks.@dj Manolo @junior McCollin🇧🇧 @ABC News @ABC World News Tonight @BBC News Pidgin @Untouchable__comediess This was not the only time we felt he was neglected. On different occasions when he needed treatment, we felt that the response from the hospital was inadequate and delayed. And today, the worst happened. I rushed my father to the hospital, only to be told that he had been brought in dead. What happened afterward broke us even further. Instead of being met with the compassion and sensitivity that a grieving family would expect, we were immediately told to take his body away because they did not want to inconvenience other patients. We were told to pay ₦30,000 for an ambulance and ₦5,000 for a death certificate. We were being pressured to move quickly, while we were still trying to comprehend that our father was gone. At that moment, I could not remain silent. My father was not a burden. He was not an inconvenience. He was a human being. He was someone’s husband, someone’s father, someone’s brother, someone’s friend. He had a family who loved him. I am sharing this publicly because I want people to know what our family experienced. I want answers. I want accountability. And I want the appropriate authorities and healthcare professionals to look into what happened to my father—from the care he received before and after his operation, to the emergency treatment he received when he was bleeding, and finally to how our family was treated after his death. I am not asking anyone to take my word blindly. I am asking for this matter to be investigated properly. If mistakes were made, let them be acknowledged. If there was negligence, let there be accountability. And if there are explanations for what happened, our family deserves to hear them. My father deserved better. My family deserved better. And no family should have to go through the pain of watching a loved one suffer and then feel unheard when that loved one dies. Dad, I am sorry I could not save you. I am sorry you had to suffer. I will never forget you. Rest peacefully, Dad. 🕊️💔 Your son will continue to speak for you.##viral##tiktok###redeem

I feel your pain, bro, and I’m sorry for your loss. I also lost my father last year due to what I believe was unprofessional healthcare. It’s painful when the people entrusted with saving lives fail to show the level of care and professionalism expected of them.

Those people are fools, honestly. I took my dad there sometime last year on an emergency. My bro, they collected the money from us, gave us a room, but refused to attend to us. It was just as if we lodged in a hotel. The next day, I moved him out and collected my balance.
