Gen X here. I was 43 when my grandma died and every family dinner or Thanksgiving I sat at the kiddie table. After she died we stopped having dinners and thanksgivings and I realized I never leveled up. I was left in kiddie table purgatory. I am now almost 50 and will never know what it was like to sit at the adult table or reach the peak of adulthood.

I’m Gen X and I have a millennial brother, and a few cousin in that generation. They are doing so well, I’m proud of them. I also have a few millennial friends and again I’m proud of them

Ironic part is we are parentified as kids to handle more than we should have and had more responsibilities than we should have by our (in my case war babies) parents AND our Gen X siblings, but when we dissented from their beliefs in any way, that's when we were being childish and we didn't know anything. Literally went to war, came home and started a family, took care of my parents, and I got the same thing. Let me say that again. Literally was in combat and WENT TO WAR. But I'm too immature to know anything. 🖤

also the constant gaslighting and manipulation but in my experience I feel and experience all of this and them trying to control my life gaslighting and try to manipulate me ( the old ass 60+ yr olds who used to be my foster parents )

I'm a 51 year old Gen Xer. Boomers still call me a baby. 🙄🙄 Meanwhile, I've noticed that most of the people with I get along best are older Millennials....but I'm only 6 years older than the eldest of them.
