It is mistakenly believed that Satanism is an “occult” or “dark” cult associated with death, but that is not the case at all. Satan transcends the very concept of darkness, as He is not bound to the dualism of light and shadow. One might perhaps say something different about Lucifer, who, as his name suggests, is a bearer of light, and Lilith, who has been associated for millennia with the dark sacred feminine. Satanism is not a dark cult, nor is it something to embrace because it looks cool or because one wants to be rebellious. Being a Satanist means reading and studying extensively, particularly subjects and practices such as high ceremonial magick, Hermeticism, philosophy, cosmology, mysticism, astrology, alchemy, spirituality, demonology, and much more. It is not a path for the ignorant, nor for those who want to appear “spiritual” simply because it looks cool. It is a path based on seriousness, dedication, study, and practice — but above all, more than anything else, on THE CURIOSITY TO KNOW THE UNKNOWN AND WHAT WE DO NOT YET KNOW.
