Sometimes when you bring someone before God in prayer He may reveal things about that person through a dream…their character, their actions, or circumstances you cannot ignore. But how often do we tend to dismiss the warning because we like the person? Because we see their potential? Because our feelings are louder than our discernment? Sometimes what God reveals today is meant to protect you from what you cannot see tomorrow. And here’s the thing about it God is a gentleman. He will not force you to obey Him. He’s given you free will, but free will does not exempt you from the consequences of your decisions. That’s why I always say…EXERT DISCIPLINE MORE THAN YOU EXERCISE FREE WILL. If God says NO, don’t turn around and say “Well, I’m going to do what I want, and I’ll come back to God later.” Huh 😭 You may be voluntarily walking into something God was trying to prevent you from experiencing. Now not every dream is a divine warning which is why we must test what we believe we’re hearing against Scripture, prayer, wisdom, and the fruit of someone’s character. But when God makes something clear, don’t allow your attachment to negotiate away your obedience. Save yourself unnecessary heartbreak, disappointment, and years of healing from something discernment could have helped you avoid. God’s boundaries are not meant to deprive you. They’re meant to protect you.
