@sw33t_juicy_barbie: Deshawn Smith, 26, was driving to work Monday morning when a school bus suddenly crossed into his lane and struck his Jeep head-on. He died at the scene. “There was absolutely nothing he could do to avoid it,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. Investigators say the crash began when a Chevy Malibu crossed the center line and hit the bus, tearing off a tire. The bus veered into oncoming traffic, struck Smith’s Jeep and overturned. Adinaluz Prieto Oyola, a 16-year-old Winter Haven High School student on the bus, also died. It was supposed to be her first day of cheerleading practice. Dozens of others were taken to hospitals, and investigators are still working to determine why the Malibu crossed the center line. Deshawn was headed to work. Adinaluz was headed to school and a day she had been looking forward to. Neither made it home.
