The little bumps on the F and J would only be noticed by typers and the purpose is to know where to put your fingers. When I learned to type the typewriters we used didn’t have ANY letters on the keys. You were supposed to know where they were BUT it only worked if you knew where to place your fingers…hence: the bumps on the keys
