why are non Americans are so bad at making these 😭 I think if you want an authentic 1 to 1 pbj experience, ideally, you should you a grape JELLY. Very important that it is a jelly. Jam is ok, jellO is entirely wrong. It must be grape. Strawberry or blackberry are also common, but grape is the classic. Even coats on both pieces of bread. And ideally white bread again just for that 1to1 true to the classic PBJ. Not too thick not too thin, just a nice equal layer of each. Best served with a glass of cold milk. Also I recommend a side of potato chips to truly immerse yourself in the vibes. This is like a prime time classic elementary school lunch, and I often have it for lunch to this day.

I ate PB&J every day growing up. My favorite is on whole wheat bread with crunchy peanut butter (no sugar) and grandma’s homemade jam from her raspberry bushes.
