@oursignedworld: I believe our emotions are a gift from God—even anger. ❤️ I don’t want to teach my kids to be afraid of anger, ashamed of it, or stuff it down. I want to teach them to understand it. One of the most helpful things I learned in therapy was to look underneath my anger. What am I actually feeling? And why? For Madison, what came out was anger, but underneath it she was sad because she felt the consequence was unfair. The goal wasn’t to make the anger disappear or change the consequence. It was to help her understand what she was feeling and what she chose to do with it. Because Scripture doesn’t say we can’t be angry. It says, “In your anger do not sin.” — Ephesians 4:26 Our emotions can tell us something, but they don’t have to control what we do next. ❤️ #ParentingTips #GentleParenting #EmotionalRegulation #ChristianParenting #EmotionalIntelligence
