@pro.glitch: How to become the AI person at work: a 90-day plan to get noticed and promoted How to use AI at work to get noticed and promoted: the 90-day plan to become the AI person on your team. Every team is about to have one, and your company is already looking for them. Microsoft and LinkedIn asked thousands of leaders, and two out of three said they wouldn't hire someone without AI skills. Only about four in ten people who use AI at work ever got trained by their company. That gap is your seat. Here is how to learn AI skills at work and prove it, step by step: 1. Days 1 to 10, the copy-paste census. For one week, write down every time your team moves information by hand: the Monday report, notes into tasks, numbers from one system into another. Pick ONE chore that happens every week, that everyone hates, and that your manager can see. 2. Measure it before you build anything. Four people, 90 minutes a week, 50 weeks a year is 300 hours. Write that number down. It is the number that gets you noticed. 3. Days 11 to 30, build it inside the rules. Never paste client data into a personal AI account. Ask IT which AI tools are approved and build with those. The person who handles this right is the one security trusts, and that person gets the bigger projects. 4. Build the AI automation the boring way. Steps that never change go into an automation: a clock, the data from each tool, and one AI step that writes the summary. Give the AI one page about your team so it writes like a teammate. 5. Keep a human in the loop. The AI workflow never posts on its own. You get the draft, you approve it, then it goes out. 6. Days 31 to 60, run it for a month and keep score. How often you had to fix the draft, how many minutes it really saves. A month of clean runs is your proof. 7. Days 61 to 90, show it on one slide. Before: 300 hours a year. After: almost none, and the report lands every Monday at eight. Hand your manager a one-page write-up so it doesn't live only in your head. What happens next: the next messy process comes to you, then the next team asks. You stop being the person who's good with AI and become the person who runs AI for the department. One chore, one number, one slide. This fits anyone in an office job who wants to learn practical AI automation for work: operations, admin, marketing, sales support, team leads. #aiautomation #aiagents #aiemployee
