Léa Seydoux has opened up about one of the most difficult filming experiences of her career—and it happened just months after giving birth. The 41-year-old French actress welcomed her second son in December 2024. Just two months later, she returned to work on The Unknown, filming a N*de scene for the movie. She also filmed Gentle Monster soon afterward, which featured another N*de scene. Seydoux admitted the experience was difficult, but said she made a choice to show the body she actually had at that time. “They were difficult for me, of course, but it's the body I had at the time I made those films,” she told ELLE UK. She explained that she believes audiences should see bodies they can relate to because it can make a performance feel more believable. “It was a few months after I gave birth, and I'm proud to show my body, that is, a real body,” she said. Her comments come as Seydoux also reflects on the way women are treated in the film industry. She said Hollywood can be especially harsh toward women as they get older, because youth and beauty can have an economic value in the business. Seydoux also looked back on Blue Is The Warmest Colour, saying the way the movie was made was “of another era” and that it was not produced with enough respect. Despite the difficult experiences, she remains proud of her career, including her role as Madeleine Swann in the James Bond films.
