My daughter wanted her own space away from her brothers, so I started experimenting. The goal was 3 bedrooms + a living room: two side tents became bedrooms, the Tahoe became the third bedroom, and the pop up canopy gave us a shared living space in the middle. I also wanted an alternative to our SUV tent. I love it, but because it attaches over the hatch, I have to disconnect it anytime I want to drive somewhere. With this setup, I could simply back the Tahoe in at night and drive right back out when we wanted to leave. 🙌🏾 And honestly? The concept worked really well. There are just a couple things I’d change next time. I’d use longer canopy walls to give the area around the Tahoe more coverage, and I’d try different side tents. These were thinner than I expected and the windows didn’t fully close at the top, so I wouldn’t personally recommend this particular pair. But the overall setup? Definitely doing it again. I loved having separate sleeping spaces while still giving everyone one central place to hang out. Would you camp in a setup like this? #FamilyCamping #CampingSetup #CampingIdeas #CarCamping #CampingWithKids
