I had so many medals as a child from our family going on Volksmarches. Growing up in West Germany was amazing. So was The Netherlands. So beautiful.

I GET THIS LOL i moved from America to Austria for my partner and sometimes we like to take night walks 😭😭 MY night walk is yknow, a lap around the town, maybe 20-30 mins right? he always wants to walk all the way to the next town over 😭

😒 yeah, Germans would hate to deal with trying to keep pace with californians ongoing for walks, I would walk on a regular basis from one end of my town to the other back in California, 7 miles just to get a chili dog, eat it and then walk home. If I felt like going the same route, I might stop by the mall. Which from where I would get the chili dog was another five miles californians like hiking , not all americans have an aversion to walking long distances and europeans don't know what long distance is because they use kilometers instead of miles , so they don't know how to walk a long distance

Hah! Where we live in California, it’s beautiful, but let me tell ya’, the temps can get over 100° in a heartbeat, and the UV is unrelenting from sunrise to sunset, and yet the mountains are beautiful and exercise is healthful, it’s just that it’s more comfortable to look at the mountains from inside your air-conditioned SUV and to exercise at the air-conditioned gym on a treadmill, haha.

Just a ball park figure for estimating that people might remember: 1 kilometer is about a 1/2 mile. So (roughly) a 5 mile walk.

That's really just a small Spaziergang if it's 10 km. I once went out with a guy and we went on a 16 km, a 14 km and a 21 km Spaziergang. Sad thing, I thought we were dating but got friendzoned after 3 months🥲
