I worked at San Quentin as a nurse. I can't imagine spending more than a week there, much less 25 plus years. It's an environment that changes you in a bad way that no one can even remotely imagine. It's cold, brutal, soul killing. And your brain has to adapt to this hell, and it does, but it twists you into something unrecognizable.
