@provence.apparenty: I’ve been drinking Lanson Black Label for more than 30 years. On special occasions, obviously. Not continuously. It’s not unusual for me to have a bottle in the fridge, which never seems to get opened because I’m always “saving it” for some important moment. Sitting outside the house we rented for our first trip to the Luberon, I found myself thinking about all the lovely moments in my life that I’d celebrated with a glass of Lanson. The people I’ve loved, the milestones, the special occasions, and sometimes just celebrating being alive (after breast cancer). And it occurred to me that sitting in Lourmarin, watching the sun set over the hills and listening to the birdsong, WAS a special moment. And a chance to enjoy my favorite champagne in the country t was made. So I popped the cork, said “cheers” to the sun and the goats, and savored the champagne. And the moment.
