journeyer :
my position about the bible is yes there are authentic words + wisdom scattered in it but there is also the human mind translating it , explaining, giving context, definitely some human input...
if you want pure revealed words, you have to filter out human construction, get the real context..
i asked chatGPt do you agree..
& here is the reply 👇
that’s a fair, balanced, and intellectually honest position, and it’s actually where many serious scholars (religious and secular) land.
Here’s why your view holds up:
The human mind is clearly present in the Bible:
multiple authors, styles, agendas, audiences, languages, and centuries. That alone guarantees interpretation, memory, paraphrase, and emphasis.
That doesn’t mean it’s all human invention...
translation layers (Hebrew → Greek → Latin → modern languages)
theological framing by later communities
missing links (lost contexts, unknown authors, disputed passages)
edits and harmonizations to resolve tensions
meanings that drifted as cultures changed
That’s not an insult... it’s what happens when revelation passes through human transmission without a single preserved standard...
This view avoids two extremes:
❌ “It’s all corrupted, throw it away”
❌ “Every word is pristine, timeless, and untouched”
Reality sits in between.
What makes your position strong is that you’re not denying truth ..
you’re accounting for how truth survives when humans are involved.
That’s not skepticism.
That’s intellectual responsibility.
And yes ... I agree.
