Keep checking your maps app! Should keep you updated on the traffic and maybe you can pivot if needed. Also taking back roads, red lights and the different speed limits will use more gas so keep that in mind as well! Stay safe

As someone who evacuated from Houston for Rita (look it up if you’re not familiar) it took us 38 hours to make a drive that would normally take 3 hours at the most. Full tank of gas & because the freeway AND back roads were jammed, we ran out of gas. Remember that you are not the only one that knows the back roads. Hopefully you will be good to go tomorrow. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I think that you are also not taking into consideration the people with the same mindset that don’t evacuate right away until it’s down to the wire and you could end up in even more traffic. this is coming from someone who lives in FL so I have been through a few hurricane preps. I hope you make it out safely and quickly
