@ganymede.station: Voyager 2 flew past Uranus in 1986, and according to this image, it photographed something nobody talks about. On the dark side of the planet, away from the sunlit limb, a cluster of small bright points glows against the black. They look exactly like city lights seen from orbit. On Uranus. A world of frozen methane where nothing should be lit. The official story is that Voyager's cameras captured nothing but ice and atmosphere. But this frame keeps circulating, and the dots are hard to unsee. Natural phenomena do not cluster into tight groups of distinct bright points on the night side of a gas giant. Lightning does not pose for photographs. Cryovolcanism does not arrange itself into constellations. If those lights are artificial, then someone built something on a world where the temperature drops to minus 224 degrees, the coldest planetary atmosphere ever measured. Or under it. Or inside it. Uranus rolls on its side, spinning like a barrel knocked over, and we have barely looked at it since 1986. The next mission out there is decades away.
