@grahamcweaver: The number one regret of the dying isn’t what you’d expect. Palliative care nurse Bronnie Ware spent years with patients in their final weeks of life and asked each of them one question: What do you regret most? The most common answer: “I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.” Most of us are quietly living someone else’s script: the career that looks good on paper, the choices that keep everyone comfortable, the dreams we’ve filed under “someday.” The good news? You don’t have to wait until the end to change it. What’s one thing you’d do differently if you stopped living for other people’s expectations? Drop a comment. #mindset #regret #fear #motivation #purpose
that would me my regret,if I dont do something about it now ,I did ask my grandma this and she said nothing because she did exactly that when my grandpa died she did everything she wanted and she definitely lived shes coming to the end of her life now !

why ask them that? they're suffering enough at that point? if they want to say anything they will and if they don't, leave them be.

Well, I was a nurse for 36 years and the number one thing that dying people told me was that they hadn’t spent more time with loved ones instead of doing chores

I wanted to be a vet. Everyone told me I couldn’t handle it especially when animals died. I was too soft and got too attached. I got a business degree instead and while it pays the bills it wasn’t me or what I wanted to do. I also learned that I am a lot stronger than everyone else in my family thought I was. Always go out and live your best life. You only get one shot at this. Don’t live with regrets. 🥰

So true. We waste so much time on being what others expect and not embracing who we truly are❤️

Love it! Very hard to do. I know many people who chose a career path due to their parents (mis)guidance. One got an mba instead of a masters in design. Suppressed her innate creative side for a career path that was against her grain. Got burned out.

Absolutely love this. The fact that people live their whole lives based on what people told them just doesn't make sense

Keeping that in mind, how do you know that you're being true to yourself and not just constantly adapting to your surroundings?

I have never heard that before. Most is about family, love, and regrets on not having children.
