People want to argue that the ship looked like it did because it was out at sea for so long. Yeah, no shit. They didn't get a chance to hit a port to clean it up the whole time they were out after Guam. I joined in 2003 and was on the USS Wasp for 6 years. The longest deployment while I was on the ship was 7 months. Apparently we got "lucky" with port stops, and also getting resupplied underway with everything the sailors needed and parts our ship needed for the DC's to fix the plumbing or anything else for the ship to run in a humane way. Unfortunately, this will all get buried somehow. I'm more worried for my Seabee son right now under this joke called hegseth...
