@serenasums: I think the reason I relate to Mikasa so much is because she feels everything so deeply, even when she doesn’t show it. She’s quiet, loyal, protective, and has so much love in her heart, but sometimes that love becomes her biggest weakness. People see her as this strong girl who can handle anything, but underneath all that strength is someone who’s terrified of losing the people she loves. I see myself in her because when I love someone, I love them with everything in me, even when it hurts. She doesn’t ask for much, just to be close to the people who make her feel safe. And I think that’s what makes her character so heartbreaking. She can fight anyone, survive almost anything, but she can’t protect herself from her own feelings. Mikasa taught me that sometimes the strongest girls are the ones who love the hardest, and that letting go of someone doesn’t mean you ever stopped loving them.
