My mother was a raging alcoholic. She used to beat me horrifically. I told the elders and they did NOTHING. They didn’t even talk to my mom. I went to them in secret, in fear for me life when I was 12…. They didn’t NOTHING. I had one elder that would always talk to me secretly and ask me if I was ok. I was too young to know that he wanted to help but he couldn’t because of their rules.
