I remember when i was about 12 years old i asked questions and was told "don't take these 10 plaques literally but more in a symbolic way" i asked if Moses's talk with god was symbolic too, the answer was "no, that's real".. i replied by saying that doesn't make sense. She answered that it wasn't my place to question god. I was confused and asked 'then why did he give me free will? you're confussing me".... She send me away, by the time i got home she had allready called my parents. We had a long talk about religion and that they (my parents) wouldn't force it on me. I went to, i think it was 3 more bible study classes and then told my parents "Sorry, but i'm out" this doesn't make any sense to me. I'm 51 now and it still doesn't make sense to me 😂

So, this was one of the stories that as a kid started my deconstruction. I literally asked, if all this stuff happened and the Red Sea parted, how come there are no records in Egypt because they kept records of fricking everything. I got one of those “It’s the mystery of faith” answers. That’s why it ain’t no mystery that I have no faith.
