Jersey now requires a driver’s license to drive one if you’re younger than 18 so you can’t even ride one if you’re under 16 and you need insurance for each bike and I don’t think that’s an overreaction at all

isn't the point of them having a normal bike to get them exercise and tire them out? also it'll limit how fast they go? I dont get this e-bike thing at alllll

My husband has decided the solution to this problem is that all the parents need to get their own e-bikes. Ride them around the neighborhood, make sure their friends see you. Then they will no longer be cool and the kids won’t want them anymore.

Why can’t they just ride normal bikes? Why does it have to be so fast

Almost every pediatric trauma I see is an e-bike, e-scooter, or ATV. Ever see a degloved foot? We've had at least three in the last month.

I wouldn't mind them if they only reached like 20km/h like, normal kid speed on a bike 💀 why the fuck are they so fast!? that's an electric motorcycle

If you really want to get paid, make sure you get a life insurance policy for them with that E bike! I suggest that with motorcycle users too!

As a pediatric ER nurse, this is accurate. The traumas are horrific, even with a helmet.

There’s an entire family, adults included, that have e-bikes. They all just zip down their driveway between parked cars onto the street. I’ve come pretty close to hitting several of them multiple times. It’s infuriating.

Why do they need E-Bikes or E-scooters? Just buy them a regular bike and scooter???

Calling them “ebikes” is kind of a misnomer - there are regular bicycles with electric assist on them that people use for normal commuting etc. People are buying their kids electric motorcycles.

My kid snapped his arm falling off a regular scooter when he hit a death pebble going down a hill… why would anyone think it’s a good idea to put their kids on something that goes FASTER than that?!
