No one in the Ninth Continent remembered when the river first appeared. It began in the mountains beyond the eastern desert, where ancient towers stood half-buried beneath the sand. From there it wound toward the sea in impossible colors—deep blue beside crimson, violet beside silver—never mixing. The people of Aurelith called it the Memory River. They said it carried the dreams of the world toward the ocean. At the edge of the city stood the oldest temple, a colossal structure of pale stone built into the cliffs. Its towers rose above the surrounding palaces, and its doors were large enough for giants. No one entered anymore. Because the last person who did had returned speaking a language no living person understood. For centuries, the temple remained sealed. Then, one summer night, the river changed. The blue current stopped. The red current stopped. Every colored stream became perfectly still. Then, beneath the stars, the entire river began flowing backward. People poured into the streets to watch it climb toward the mountains. Among them was a young archivist named Elian. He had spent his life studying the ruins scattered throughout the Ninth Continent. He believed the great cities had been built by people who understood something the modern world had forgotten. That night, he realized they had not forgotten. They had been warned. Elian followed the river until he reached the temple. Its enormous doors were open. Inside, beneath the dust, he found thousands of footprints. They all led inward. None came back. He entered. The temple descended impossibly deep. Staircases passed through chambers filled with statues, observatories, and empty libraries. The walls showed paintings of the Ninth Continent as it looked now—but beneath its cities were enormous shapes moving beneath the ground. At the lowest chamber, Elian found a circular pool. The colored river flowed into it from nowhere. Above the pool was an inscription. He translated it slowly. THE WORLD IS NOT SURROUNDED BY THE SEA. THE SEA IS SURROUNDED BY THE WORLD. Elian stared at the words. Then the pool began to glow. Its surface became transparent. He saw the ocean. Then the continent. Then the entire planet. And beyond it, something impossible. The world was not floating in empty space. It was sitting inside an enormous ring of ancient stone, so vast that mountains looked like dust against it. Countless gates were built into the ring. Most were dark. One was open. Through that opening came the same light that illuminated the temple. Elian suddenly understood the towers, the walls, and the strange roads that led nowhere. They had never been monuments. They were anchors. The cities of the Ninth Continent had been built to hold something in place. Something outside the world. The river suddenly surged. A deep sound rolled through the chamber. Above him, every bell in the city began ringing at once. Elian ran outside. The sky had changed. The stars were moving. Not falling. Moving closer. Across the horizon, enormous shapes emerged from the darkness beyond the atmosphere. One by one, the ancient towers of Aurelith began to awaken. Their windows filled with golden light. The great temple doors opened completely. For the first time in thousands of years, the city heard a voice from within. It spoke only three words. “THE GATES REMEMBER.” Then the river turned toward the sea again. But this time, something was traveling with it. Something enormous. Something beneath the water. Far beyond the horizon, another ancient city answered with a single tower of light. Then another. Then another. Across the Ninth Continent, the forgotten cities were waking. Elian looked toward the stars. He finally understood why the old maps had never shown the world beyond the continent. There had never been an unexplored world beyond it. There had only been a boundary. And someone, somewhere, had just opened the door.

I'll do game packs next. Did yall hear about EA being bought out by Saudi Arabia and Jared Kushner? It’s crazy. I hope the future of the EA gaming community is still in tact. #Sims4 #ExpansionPacks #SimsReview #Gaming
