I can relate to this. We broke up not long ago but 2 months ago now, it was an awful break up they broke up with me, they said they fell out of love with me, even though we was fine and great they spent the week at mine and didn’t show that or communicated like that with me until the day she was going home. We then had a talk and accepted we’ll be friends. During this time she was giving me mixed signals and felt like I was being strung along, she would ignore my texts and say she’s too busy. I communicated with her and tried telling her how I feel as well as taking accountability to what I did wrong. We had a call and that’s when she told me again she’s a shit friend she can’t give me reassurance or comfort and too busy to text me. Turns out she was talking to someone new when the communication stopped and this guy is an avoidant so I don’t know if I would hear from her, the last thing she said to me was never to contact her again
