Depends on the particular site, but those lines can move surprisingly fast. The newer sites can have 4 pumps per row (with status lights indicating free pumps) and I’ve seen 5-6 rows. That’s 10-12 lanes for 40 or more pumps. Go at an off-peak time and you can typically drive to an empty pump straight away.

Im in Tx rn and gas in red rock is $3.59 … That's before using any points on my Exxon app. When I'm in CA. I just use E 85. I refuse to feed the Sacramento tax machine.

Here in Mission Viejo we have Costco gas station with about 40 pumps, no lines here, loving it.
