As a Mercari seller I’ve never looked to see if it’s the buyers first transaction. I did notice one time by chance but definitely didn’t think twice about it. I feel like everyone starts somewhere. A big majority of my rating are just five stars and no comments.. It seems no one has the time to thoughtfully review. I’ll take the five stars though.

As a Mercari seller, I can say from experience that the ratings don’t matter. I’ve never had any problems except that they may not review and you have to wait 3 days for payment. Just having a rating doesn’t guarantee a review.

Make sure to take pictures of the item with the label and then as your packing it and dropping it off at the post office. If the buyer does some shady business mercari will ask for picture proof that you sent the right item undamaged. Happened to me a few years ago. And honestly it’s best to do this with every item because you never know who the crazies are

I personally don’t sell on Mercari but I definitely wouldn’t take the risk. I have bought from sellers who wouldn’t sell to me until I had at least 2 or 3 reviews on my account.

tbh mercari is pretth good with seller support! maybe message them and try to get a feel of them first

no. as someone who has over 215+ transaction on mercari, i wouldn't take the risk. mercari support is a pain in the a--, so unless you are willing to deal with that, I would just advise you to cancel the purchase.
