There’s an Icelandic saying I learned recently that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about. ❤️ Þetta reddast. It roughly translates to “it will all work out,” but I think there’s more to it than that. It’s not necessarily saying everything will work out exactly how you planned. It’s more this idea that when things don’t go according to plan, you figure it out. You adapt, keep going, and somehow things have a way of working themselves out. I briefly mentioned þetta reddast when we first got back to Iceland, but the more I thought about it during this trip, the more it resonated with me. Especially after this year. There have been a lot of moments where I had absolutely no idea how things were going to work out. Things changed that I couldn’t control, plans went completely out the window, and there are still experiences I’m trying to make sense of. I definitely haven’t suddenly become someone who can just shrug and say “it’ll all work out” every time something goes wrong 😅 But I like the idea of trusting that even when you don’t know what comes next, you’ll figure it out when you get there. And then while walking around Reykjavík, I looked up and there was this rainbow over the harbor and Harpa. 🌈 Obviously Iceland has no shortage of rainbows… but the timing felt pretty perfect. I think þetta reddast is one thing I’ll be taking home with me from this trip. ❤️🇮🇸 Things have a way of working themselves out. #inspire #travelinspired #visiticeland🇮🇸 #reykjavik #rainbow🌈
