💚💚ADOPTION PENDING💚💚 🚨 ADOPT/RESCUE – NODAS MED 🚨 ⏰ Needs placement by 10/09 at 11AM CST 💙 BUSTER A1300122 💙 🐾 4 years old 🐾 Intact male 🐾 73 lbs 🐾 Heartworm positive 🐾 Stray (at large) — found on McNeil Street, Dallas, TX 75227 🔗 Adopets: https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/bf7a4193-ecf4-4b8d-8a47-4533dd683c9e 💔 UPDATE 10/06: Buster is now NODAS MED after experiencing a loss of appetite that requires further veterinary evaluation. He remains in urgent need of placement by 10/09 at 11AM CST. But there is some really encouraging news about Buster. 💙 He is coming out of his shell. Buster initially struggled with the shelter environment and was very cautious around people. But with patience, treats, and a gentle approach, he has been showing that there is a sweet boy underneath that fear. ✨ He allows gentle pets ✨ He warms up with treats ✨ He knows “sit” ✨ He has good manners ✨ He can become calm and relaxed ✨ He waits calmly for attention ✨ He stayed close to his volunteer even with people passing and dogs barking ✨ He has begun approaching people for pets and scratches In playgroup, Buster was initially timid but slowly warmed up with time in the yard. Once comfortable, he allowed greetings and began socializing. He was rated PG1 – SOCIAL / DAINTY & GENTLE. Medically, Buster is heartworm positive. On 10/06, he was evaluated for his loss of appetite. His CBC/chemistry results were within normal limits, and there was no vomiting, diarrhea, or signs of CIRD. The veterinarian noted that his appetite loss could be related to doxycycline and/or anxiety. He received fluids and Cerenia, and doxycycline was discontinued while he is monitored. Buster also has mild epiphora in his right eye, but diagnostics/medication were not possible due to his behavior. 💔 Buster needs someone who will see the progress he is making and give him the time to continue coming out of his shell. 🚨 He is currently at risk for euthanasia due to his medical needs and shelter capacity. 🏠 ADOPT: dasadopt@dallas.gov 🏠 FOSTER: dasfoster@dallas.gov 🛟 RESCUE TAG: dasrescue@dallas.gov Please include your callback phone number when contacting DAS. 🙏 Buster is showing us that he wants to trust.
